Toyota Starlet (KP61): Need help with information on rotary engine swap!?
I'm trying to find information about swapping a rotary motor in a 1981-1984 Toyota Starlet (KP61).
Either a 13B rotary engine, or maybe even 12.
Forget it. For one thing, the engine bay is too small to accommodate the engine. If you were able to somehow have to fit everything you'd all electronics including transmission and change.
How much is a 1981 Toyota Starlet worth? I can't seem to find any US prices. I know they're rare but someone?
These cars are only sold here from 81 to 84, so there's not many of them. I can not seem to really find any prices in the U.S.. I think their full name is Starlet KP61.
My friend has one with a perfectly straight body, no rust and faded paint.
give him what he ever wants. awesome wee car race and rally.
In New Zealand they are very much sort after for racing.
one guy has even put a V8 twin turbo one.

1974 Ford Escort Mk 1 - The Gas Man - 165
If you weren’t no stranger to with Escorts you would think the engine is a factory option. That’s testament to the workmanship,
for which Cameron is mostly responsible.
Cameron is a diesel mechanic, and through his attraction of cars — and plenty of trial and error — he taught himself how to carry out most of the modifications.
Cameron was well sensible how good the Sierra Cosworth engine was and knew it was the only engine he wanted for his Escort project. That caused one or two problems.
For a start, Sierra Cosworth engines cost serious medium of exchange. But only if you can find one. Simply locating one of these engines is hard, and they will generally have to come from the UK.
Cameron hunted around for his engine for the better part of a year with no chance. Eventually he came to realise that it would be easier to buy a fully functional, road registered Sierra Cosworth, rip everything he needed out of it and tell on the Sierra shell. “I never liked the shape of the Sierra Cosworths anyway,” Cameron reasons.

My backup car.
